Tomme Crayeuse is a cow's milk cheese from the Auvergne region, known for its crumbly and slightly grainy texture. This pressed, uncooked cheese is aged in cool caves, allowing it to develop a natural rind, often covered with a thin layer of ash. Its paste is white and chalky, with a mild, delicate taste featuring milky and slightly tangy notes, along with a touch of saltiness.
Tomme Crayeuse is perfect for a cheese board, paired with country bread or fresh fruits. It pairs wonderfully with dry white wines or light red wines and can also be used in salads or cooked dishes.
