Puntarelle Salad
Puntarelle salad is a variety of chicory produced in Italy. It has a very specific shape with long, thin, spiked green leaves.
The long and crisp leaves of the puntarelle salad are between 15 to 50cm in length, it’s very eye-catching in a plate. It can be eaten raw and cooked. The taste is a bit bitter and the leaves are crunchy and fatty at the same time, which makes the Puntarelle salad a surprising vegetable.
The best season to enjoy the Puntarelle salad is from October to April.
