Rhubarb

Rhubarb is similar in both appearance and texture to celery, while its flavor is tart and acidic. It is therefore often cooked with sugar to enhance its taste.

It is classically grown in two ways either in the open field or in the greenhouse. Field-grown rhubarb is usually dark red with green leaves. Whereas greenhouse-grown ones yield pink or slightly red stems with Yellow leaves.

Even though it can be served as a vegetable, is more commonly used in sweet recipes such as pies, cobblers, and jams. It is often paired with strawberries.
