Royal Kombu Seaweed
The Royal Kombu grows from small cuttings placed on large kelp. It can grow to several meters in just a few months.
It has thick, light brown leaves with wavy edges. Once processed, the seaweed often has a dark, almost black color. Also known as sweet seaweed, it has both a slightly sweet and salty taste and can easily be used as a seasoning in dishes.
Because this type of seaweed has a higher content of natural sugars, it has a sweeter taste than other varieties.
